Cheryl Roberts, a casting director based in Santa Fe, teaches a Film-career-focused acting class on Thursday evenings at the Quality Inn in Bernalillo, New Mexico. New Mexico headshot photographer Valerie Santagto completed a portrait session with Amanda Rose Montano, who placed third in the Mrs. New Mexico 2009 pageant.

In 2008, Amanda placed 10^th in the competition. This year, after having new and professional portraits taken by  Valerie, the executive state director who runs the pageant, Sheree, wrote to Valerie, congratulating her for the wonderful photos.  Her exact words were, ” I received all the pictures, and they are WOW!”

The icing on the cake: Amanda got an agent, in part because of her professional and flattering photos.  We are confident she will win the pageant next year.

New Mexico headshot photographer Valerie Santagto completed a portrait session with New York Actor Gwen Goldsmith. Gwen recently relocated to New Mexico to work in the growing local film industry. Her most recent film credits include You’ve Got Mail, The Pallbearer, Donnie Brasco, The Mirror Has Two Faces, and Die Hard: With A Vengeance. An Off-Broadway actor with many years of credits, Gwen  recently booked 6 voiceovers for Google and is developing a One-Woman show with local Albuquerque director Barney Lopez. When asked why she chose Valerie Santagto for her new headshots, Gwen replied, “I have worked with so many incredible New York photographers over the years, I recognize real talent when I see it. Valerie is gifted. I feel blessed she lives and works in my new home town.  I highly recommend her to anyone who seriously wants to work.”

Albuquerque, New Mexico commercial photographer Valerie Santagto is booked to shoot new headshots of actress Robyn Reede on Friday, May 29th, 2009 in her Albuquerque Studio. Robyn Reede is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, Actors’ Equity and New Mexico Women in Film. Her most recent film projects include Tennessee, starring Mariah Carey (due for release in June 2009), Five Dollars A Day, starring Christopher Walken (scheduled for limited release in April 2009) and Lifetime movie Sex and Lies in Sin City, starring Mena Suvari.
